The "Building the Wingnut Wings"" series are already a mark and a most to all WnW models.

There were several titles already and all of then were and are a reference in the way you can build a WnW like a master.

This title is in the same editorial and design line as all others so you get lots of details and explicit text of how to do it all step of the build, accompanied with construction pics (which I would like that would be bigger) and some very nice detail shots of the real aircraft taken from various museum type.

 

So, along 60 pages, Ray brings us nine sections:

 Adding up to roughly 60 pages, this would seem to be a sort of "one stop shop" for all Camel fans. Naturally enough, as the title implies, there is also a great selection of two of the various Camels during various stages of construction, with hints and tips interspersed throughout.

An introduction and nine sections make up this volume, and they are:

• Tweaking the Duelists' LVG C.VI
• What's in a Name?
• Building the Sopwith 2F.1 'Ship's Camel'

In inside the boxes, the author looks briefly to every WnW Camel and point out the differences between version and boxes.

Half of the book, about 30 pages is dedicated to the 'Clerget” Camel.

Along the constructions the very helpful close-up pics (excellent photos) divived by contructions area. So when the author is tackling the cockpit, along with the text, constructions images, you got also real aircraft close-up pictures of the cockpit. And the same is made with all other segmnets, like the engine, wings, rigging etc.

Also some beautiful Ronny Bar profiles illustrate this volume.

 

 

 

A same incursion to the LVG because of the Duellist, with 6 pages with some constructions pics but overall excellent pictures of the real LCG. I wish I have these pics when I made my LVG.

 

 

The other Camel that is tackle is the Ship Camel, along 13 pages in the same style, with some brilliant explanatory text, ending up with a bit of History, with Tondern Raiders.

Several WWI aviation sites, publications and materials are announced on the pages and aftermarket accessories with highlights in Pheon decals and ODG Studios 1:32 Lighter.

 

 

 

CONCLUSION:

The title is not a surprise for any WWI aviation modeler, and the quality still up high as we already are use to from Ray Rimmel and Albatros Publication.

The text, with the cloe up pictures along with the model constructions pics is all you need to take your Camel to another level.

On top of that, the Ronny Bar profiles are always welcome.

So, once again, another must have to all WWI modeler aviation, specially for any Wingnutter.
